Persistent seroma following breast prosthesis explantation: a case report and review

Abstract

Seroma formation is an uncommon yet recognized complication following augmentation mammaplasty. However, it is unusual to see persistent seroma formation subsequent to implant removal. We present such a case and review the literature to gain some insight into its etiology and to look at the options for its prevention.
