The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) is an international nongovernmental organisation that is registered in Nyon, Switzerland. A 21-member Board manages the Foundation with input from three committees:
(1)
the Committee of National Societies with 128 patient, scientific and medical societies from 89 countries, representing 80% of the world population;
 
(2)
the Committee of Scientific Advisers, comprising 87 researchers and health professions:
 
(3)
the Committee of Corporate Advisers that represents 35 companies committed to the global battle against osteoporosis.
