Trotz großer Erfolge in der Behandlung von Prostatakarzinompatienten mit niedrigem und intermediärem Risiko bleibt die Behandlung von Prostatakarzinompatienten mit hohem Risiko weiterhin herausfordernd. Im Jahr 2021 wurden die Ergebnisse von drei randomisierten Studien veröffentlicht, in denen die Rolle verschiedener Konzepte der Behandlungseskalation bei Patienten mit hohem Risiko untersucht wurden [1‐3]. Sie zeigten gewisse Verbesserungen in Bezug auf verschiedene onkologische Outcomes. Jedoch ist bisher die klinische Anwendung dieser Konzepte der Behandlungseskalation noch nicht geklärt. Wir diskutieren hier drei Ansätze. …
