Rothia dentocariosa endocarditis with mitral valve prolapse: case report and brief review

We present a case of endocarditis with a rare pathogen, Rothia dentocariosa, in a patient with mitral valve prolapse. The symptoms began 1 month after the patient underwent cholecystectomy. Endocarditis was successfully treated with outpatient parenteral therapy with ceftriaxone, and follow-up blood cultures remained negative. …
