In some regions, weather conditions have an impact upon emergency department (ED) visits, hospital admissions, and even mortality.13 Studies in other regions have shown no such impact of weather.4, 5 Physician perceptions of this inconsistent phenomenon are unclear, particularly in internal medicine.
