Excerpt

Hand arthralgia is a nonspecific symptom of several diseases including rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis [1]. General population and patients who live with chronic pain have reported an increase in pain perception when weather variables fluctuate [2]. Furthermore, the perception of joint pain in patients with rheumatic diseases has been independently associated with weather variables [3]. The squeeze test (ST) maneuver is an easy to use, inexpensive tool employed in patients with hand arthralgia. We have previously studied the ST maneuver utility to screen for patients with hand arthralgia and the necessary strength in kilograms (kg) to reproduce pain [4]. We hypothesized that a variation in weather variables might be associated with a decrease in squeeze strength to yield a positive maneuver. …

Keynote webinar | Spotlight on medication adherence

Live: Thursday 27th June 2024, 18:00-19:30 (CEST)

WHO estimates that half of all patients worldwide are non-adherent to their prescribed medication. The consequences of poor adherence can be catastrophic, on both the individual and population level.

Join our expert panel to discover why you need to understand the drivers of non-adherence in your patients, and how you can optimize medication adherence in your clinics to drastically improve patient outcomes.
