An inguinal hernia may contain a variety of contents. The sigmoid colon, the most common location of diverticulosis, may infrequently be found within inguinal hernias. Rarely has a hernia with incarcerated sigmoid colon with diverticula been described. We present a case of perforated colonic diverticulum in an inguinal hernia and discuss treatment options for perforated and non-perforated diverticulitis in an inguinal hernia. …
