Abstract

Introduction

Humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy is an important cause of hypercalcemia associated with malignancies and has been rarely reported because of vulvar cancer.

Case

A 65-year-old woman performed modified radical vulvectomy and bilateral lymph node dissection because of vulvar cancer was referred to our clinic with fatigue and somnolence 4 months after her operation. Calcium level was 15.9 mg/dL. There was no bone metastasis, and hypercalcemia was thought as paraneoplastic syndrome because of distant recurrence of the primary vulvar cancer.

Discussion

Vulvar cancer and hypercalcemia can be seen together very rarely. However, recurrence should be kept in mind in patients with symptoms and signs of hypercalcemia.
