Patient-centered imaging was the theme of the 16th annual Scientific Session of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Held in Denver, Colorado from September 8 through September 11, 2011, the meeting brought together approximately 1,200 participants from the United States and 22 other countries to share their knowledge about nuclear-based and other methods of non-invasive cardiac imaging. With the goal of providing high-quality education and presenting cutting-edge research to improve the practice of nuclear cardiology, the program was designed to stimulate discussion about the technology, protocols, and best practices necessary for delivering optimal patient care. As with previous Scientific Sessions, the program was developed along tracks, including the Plenary, Advanced, Core, Computed Tomography (CT), Technical and Read With The Expert Tracks, to provide forums useful to a variety of attendees. The tracks were complemented by oral and poster presentations of original research, some of which are highlighted below.
