To the Editor: Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a life-threatening syndrome characterized by cytokine storm [1], and with an overall mortality rate of 42% [2]. The diagnosis of HLH is cumbersome, requiring 5 out of 8 criteria of the Revised HLH 2004 criteria along with mutational analysis [3]. NK-cell activity and soluble CD25 levels are expensive and not easily available. Also, bone marrow aspiration to demonstrate hemophagocytosis, is an invasive procedure. …
