To the Editor: Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a life-threatening syndrome characterized by cytokine storm [
1], and with an overall mortality rate of 42% [
2]. The diagnosis of HLH is cumbersome, requiring 5 out of 8 criteria of the Revised HLH 2004 criteria along with mutational analysis [
