The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on cancer diagnosis and treatment. Previous studies have repeatedly shown that the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a substantial decrease in the number of diagnosed gastrointestinal cancers in parallel with a decreased number of diagnostic procedures (e.g., endoscopy) [
