A cottage loaf is a traditional English bread, composed of two stacked spherical loaves, a small one on the top of a bigger one (Fig. 1). Its shape is similar to that of the Parisian brioche. The «cottage loaf sign» (aka: the “mushroom” sign) describes the constriction of the portion of the liver that herniates through the site of a diaphragmatic defect [1].
