Multivariable analyses are complex statistical methods used to explore and determine which independent (predictor) variables and experimental interventions interact in predicting one or more dependent (outcome) variables. The goals of multivariate analysis are to identify baseline variables, improve hypothesis testing, determine possible causative factors, weight variables used in scoring systems, and develop new rating scales. Part A provides the nonstatistician a basic understanding of the mathematical models associated with multivariate analyses, i.e., multiple linear regression, multiple logistic regression, Cox proportional hazards regression, and discriminant function analysis. Part B focuses on a basic understanding of conjunctive consolidation with a practical demonstration of how it can be performed. …
