Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide, with approximately 1 million new diagnoses each year. This high incidence is a major health problem in the USA and Europe. Synchronous and metachronous diagnosis of gastric cancer among patients with colorectal cancer is rare in the Western world, and at present no gastric cancer surveillance is recommended. However, gastric cancer is very common in Asian countries, and its surveillance in patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer might be of clinical benefit. …
