A 78-year-old woman presented to the emergency department complaining of nausea and postprandial vomiting. She denied epigastric and thoracic pain. The patient had been discharged from the hospital two months prior, following a stay in the intensive care unit, due to an episode of intestinal ischemia. This episode had led to multiorgan dysfunction, necessitating an ileocecal resection and terminal ileostomy.
