Most studies on diabetes outcome have focused on average or single measures of diabetes control. Raghavan et al.1 aimed to compare associations of hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) trajectories vs single HbA1c values with short-term mortality in diabetic patients being evaluated for coronary artery disease (CAD). They focused on three groups, those with a stable HbA1c, and those with either a declining or increasing HbA1c. Results were remarkable for higher short-term mortality in trajectories with intermediate baseline HbA1c and increasing HbA1c after catheterization. This investigation suggests HbA1c trajectories may help risk stratify short-term complications in diabetic patients compared with a single HbA1c value. …

Keynote webinar | Spotlight on medication adherence

Live: Thursday 27th June 2024, 18:00-19:30 (CEST)

WHO estimates that half of all patients worldwide are non-adherent to their prescribed medication. The consequences of poor adherence can be catastrophic, on both the individual and population level.

Join our expert panel to discover why you need to understand the drivers of non-adherence in your patients, and how you can optimize medication adherence in your clinics to drastically improve patient outcomes.
