Chronic heart failure represents a major challenge in clinical cardiology in terms of the number of patients involved. Over the past years, the number of heart failure patients has increased exponentially, with recent estimations indicating that five million patients in the United States have chronic heart failure, with 550,000 new patients diagnosed annually, resulting in one million hospitalizations [
