Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with major comorbidity and quality of life impact.1 Studies conducted in different regions of Asia observed higher prevalence of erythroderma, lichenification, extensor involvement and infra-auricular fissuring compared to studies conducted in North America and Europe,2 highlighting the heterogenous nature of AD. Patients from Japan and Korea were also reported to exhibit a more psoriasiform-like phenotype driven by TH-17-related cytokines.3 However differences in clinical manifestations of AD may be related to genetic, environmental, and behavioral factors.
