The paper by Little, Weaver, King, Liu, and Chassin (2008) in this volume of Prevention Science was co-authored by members of the winning team of the inaugural competition of the Sloboda and Bukoski Society for Prevention Research (SPR) Cup. The Cup was named in honor of two of the founders of the Society, epidemiologist Zili Sloboda and psychologist William Bukoski. The “friendly competition” for the Cup was established to highlight and celebrate the work of prevention scientists who are early in their careers. …
