Drug-induced liver injury is one of the most common identifiable causes of acute liver failure in the USA. Although most examples of idiosyncratic drug hepatotoxicity usually occur within the first 6 months after drug initiation, hepatic injury can occur 1–2 years after starting therapy. Here, we present two patients with hyperthyroidism who developed acute liver failure secondary to antithyroid medication use. …
