Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has emerged as a highly versatile non-invasive imaging modality that provides high-resolution images of the heart in any desired plane. In patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), CMR can provide information on myocardial anatomy, function, ischemia, viability, and coronary artery anatomy all within a single study and without the use of ionizing radiation (Figure 1).
