After 23 years, readers have probably forgotten that Clinical Rheumatology was born in Belgium. Whether one likes it or not, at present the scientific Esperanto is English. Therefore, the Royal Belgian Rheumatology Society decided in 1981 to change its 35-year-old journal Acta Rheumatologica Belgica into an international peer-reviewed journal [1]. A number of my friends, distinguished rheumatologists from Europe and other continents, agreed to join the editorial board. …
