Dr. Lawrence A. Yannuzzi (Fig. 1) was unanimously elected by the executive committee of the Club Jules Gonin to be the recipient of the Wacker Prize in 2008. Dr. Yannuzzi was honoured for his seminal contributions to our understanding of retinal disorders. The Wacker lecture, entitled The expanding clinical spectrum of perifoveal telangiectasias was presented by Dr. Yannuzzi on 12 September 2008 during the XXVIth Meeting of the Club Jules Gonin in St. Moritz, Switzerland. …
