It is a great honor and pleasure for the German Society for the Surgery of Obesity to invite you to the XVI Congress of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) in Hamburg. During the Congress, we will offer basic and advanced courses, presentations by leading experts, lectures, posters and video sessions, consensus meetings and a highly professional exhibition by companies specialized in the surgery for obesity and metabolic disorders. Obesity is one of today's most blatantly visible—yet most neglected—public health problems. An escalating global epidemic of overweight and obesity—“globesity”—is affecting many parts of the world.
