Vincenz Alexander Bochdalek (1801–1883): Some Remarks to the Article Dedicated to His Jubilee

As anatomists and historians of anatomy living and working in the Czech Republic, after having read the article “Vincent Alexander Bochdalek (1801–1883),” we felt a duty to answer and correct some mistakes that we had found in this article [
1]. Last year we commemorated the 175th anniversary of the defence of Bochdalek’s inaugural dissertation in the Greater Hall of Carolinum in Prague and of the publication of the thesis entitled, “Anleitung zur praktischen Zergliederung des menschlichen Gehirnes” (“A Guide to the Practical Dissection of the Human Brain”) as well as the 125th anniversary of his death. We wish to put in remembrance his achievements and merits by supplying true information about his life and work. …
