Abstract
Renal ectopia is the presence of a kidney in a location other than the renal fossa. The intrathoracic kidney constitutes less than 5% of all the different types of renal ectopias. Complications include calculi, hydronephrosis, chronic kidney disease, varicocele, clear cell renal cell carcinoma, and rarely acute respiratory failure. We are presenting a typical case of an intrathoracic ectopic kidney.
