We thank Mercantini et al. for their elegant comments on our article: “Value of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Laparoscopy for Abdominal Stab Wounds” [1]. They successfully treated a 13-year-old boy who sustained abdominal impalement injuries (AII) during diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy and concluded that AII should be included among the indications for laparoscopic management. We agreed with this idea and were impressed by their wonderful introduction to AII. …
