Iatrogenic ureter injury is a serious complication during colorectal surgery with an incidence between 0.7% and 10% [
1]. The identification of the ureters can be challenging in patients with inflammation, previous surgery or radiotherapy. Intraureteral injection of indocyanine green (ICG) and visualization under near-infrared (NIR) light allows for real-time delineation of the ureters. This technology is helpful in preventing iatrogenic ureteric injury during pelvic surgery [
