We read with great interest the excellent technical note on the utilization of microcatheters to cross a tight ureteric stricture when conventional methods fail, by A. N. Keeling and M. J. Lee (2007). As the authors point out, traversing ureteric strictures is a challenging clinical scenario for both interventional radiologists and urologists. They point out the value of using microcatheters and microguidewires as an alternative approach to cross tight ureteric strictures. We would like to add our experience with using the reverse end of a microguidewire as an alternative technique to traverse a tight ureteric stricture. …
