Neonates born within 38–42 weeks of gestation are considered as term or full-term neonates. Neonates that are born at a gestational age less than 37 weeks are regarded as pre-term neonates [
1]. Birth before normal gestation period of less than 37 weeks renders the fetus to life-threatening medical conditions, one of these being respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) [
2]. RDS is the leading cause of mortality in pre-term neonates. Respiratory compromise leads to ineffective breathing, decreased mobility of lung secretions, and need of mechanical ventilation, and ultimately becomes a question to life. …
