A 2-year-old boy with the diagnosis of coarctation of the aorta underwent balloon angioplasty. At 3-month follow-up, clinical examination revealed persistent hypertension. A 16-row multislice computerized tomography (CT) scan (Toshiba Aquilion Multi 16, Toshiba Medical System, Tokyo) was performed to evaluate the presence of residual coarctation. Our acquisition protocol was as follows: slice thickness, 1 mm; 0.5 sec/rot; helical pitch, 23; 120 Kv; 15 mAs. Contrast enhancement was achieved with 50 ml of iopromide at an infusion rate of 2 ml/sec. Total scan time was 5 seconds. …
