In this issue of Archives of Women’s Mental Health, Alhusen et al. describe an important study which links two under-recognized topics: intimate partner violence (IPV) and suicidal ideation in pregnancy (Alhusen et al. 2015). IPV is defined by the World Health Organization as behavior by a current or past intimate partner that causes physical, sexual, or psychological harm, including acts of physical aggression, sexual coercion, psychological abuse, and controlling behaviors (WHO 2013). …
