The global perspective of osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is now recognised as an important public health issue, but should it be a priority in all countries? To establish this, we have to understand what the burden is on individuals and societies across the globe at present and future trends. In addition, can it be treated and prevented effectively and affordably in all continents and cultures? How should resources be targeted to be most cost-effective in preventing fractures due to underlying osteoporosis? …
