After the first four European robotic urology symposia had taken place in western Europe, the fifth ERUS was organized in the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic, on 10–12 September 2008. We wanted to keep on being one of the major platforms for urologists interested in robotic surgery, while building a bridge between West and East in order to further expand robotic technologies.
