We thank Arora and Sevdalis [1] for their comments on our article titled Development and Evaluation of an Observational Tool for Assessing Surgical Flow Disruptions and Their Impact on Surgical Performance [2]. We are aware of the excellent work of the Clinical Safety Research Unit at Imperial College in London, and appreciate that an omission was made by not citing their previous research on work systems factors in the operating room (OR) that affect performance and surgical flow during general and urological surgery [3]. …
