Children with sickle cell disease (SCD) have a significant risk of developing ischemic stroke, with 11% of them suffering cerebrovascular injury by age 20. These strokes can lead to significant physical and neuropsychological impairment that can affect motor skills, school performance, and long-term quality of life. …
