In the January 2005 issue of surgical endoscopy, Doctors Mac Fadyen and Cuschieri expressed the concern about the emergence of new intralumirral procedures that would apply various endoscopic techniques to replace some of the current laparoscopic treatments of GERD [4]. Certain required criteria must be fulfilled before we adopt a new procedure to replace an accepted one. Our disastrous experience during the laparoscopic revolution taught us to be proactive in assuring safety in procedure adoption. …
