There have been major advances in the knowledge about presentation, diagnosis and management of liver diseases in children in the last 2–3 decades. However, liver transplantation (LT) is the final option for patients with acute liver failure (ALF), decompensated chronic liver disease, tumors and metabolic liver disease (MLD) who have failed other therapies. Biliary atresia (BA) and MLD are the most common indications for LT in children [1, 2]. …
