This book is the second volume of a trilogy on PET and SPECT imaging in the neurosciences, the other volumes covering the same issue in psychiatry and in neurobiological systems. The editors are Prof. Rudi A.J.O. Dierckx, nuclear physician (and neuropsychiatrist), Dr. Erik F.J. de Vries, radiochemist, and Dr. Aren van Waarde, biologist, all working at the University of Gröningen in The Netherlands, who edited the whole trilogy together with Prof. Andreas Otte, nuclear physician at the University of Offenburg in Germany. The guest editor for this volume is Prof. Klaus L. Lenders, neurologist in Gröningen. The trilogy was written with the collaboration of experts who participated in an international symposium on PET and SPECT in neuroscience held in The Netherlands in 2012, having as its goal the presentation of current knowledge on the subject. Starting from that scientific event, however, the book has been updated to the date of publication. …
