Risks of oral sodium phosphate for pre-colonoscopy bowel preparation in children

There is no doubt that effective bowel cleansing is important, as was stated in a recent consensus document [1]: “Inadequate bowel preparation for colonoscopy can result in missed lesions, cancelled procedures, increased procedural time, and a potential increase in complication rates.” This is equally true for children. In this letter, we seek to address the safety of bowel cleansing in children. …
