Lewis commented the results of Dr. Machado et al., studying Jahi’s brain [
1]. Preservation of intracranial structures, in both the brain stem and cerebral hemispheres, was documented 9 months after a cardiac arrest. Conceptually, a brain-dead patient has a complete absence of intracranial cerebral blood flow. Hence, this contradicts a brain death (BD) diagnosis in Jahi [
