Many studies have shown that the metastatic lymph node ratio (MLR) is not related with the number of retrieved nodes by Pearson’s correlation test and the incidence of stage migration is approximately 10%.13 Although MLR could obviously decrease stage migration, there is a paradox in that the incidence of stage migration should be <5% if MLR were completely unrelated to the number of retrieved nodes, but actually, the incidence of stage migration is even higher when <10 nodes are retrieved.4 The aim of this study was to find the relationship between MLR and the number of retrieved nodes. …
