Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is a very common procedure, with 135,000 cases performed in the USA in 2010.
1 It can generally be safely performed with only one to two nights of postoperative monitoring in the hospital and is associated with a relatively low complication rate. There is significant institutional interest in reducing the variability, improving the quality, and limiting the costs of this procedure. Prolonged length of stay (PLOS) is therefore of interest as a potential marker of quality
