Introduction: Metoclopramide is an antiemetic drug that is widely prescribed in general practice and subject to self-medication. The prevalence of acute dystonia caused by treatment with metoclopramide has been estimated to be 28.6/1 000 000 prescriptions. Children and young adults are affected significantly more often than other patients within 1–3 days after start of the medication. Metoclopramide-induced dystonia can be seen at high doses and even though at normal doses. …
