Background: Fluoroquinolones are widely used antibacterial drugs considered generally well tolerated and safe. Anaphylaxis is a severe hyper-sensitivity reaction rarely associated with these drugs and it is actually unknown whether its occurrence is different among the various fluoroquinolones. Anaphylaxis can be immune-mediated or not and in this case should be indicated as anaphylactoid reaction and may occur after first-ever intake of the drug. …
