To the Editor: Congenital chylothorax is a serious neonatal condition with high mortality and difficult management. One line of treatment in persistent high-output chylothorax is povidone-iodine chemical pleurodesis (PICP) [
1], but there is no consensus on the optimal chemical agent for the lack of solid evidence. Some reports of successful PICP have been published [
2], and summarized by Resch et al. [
3], who calculated an overall success rate of 58% and survival rate of 75%. However, due to the limited number of reported cases, the optimal dose and concentration of povidone-iodine and the duration of chest tube clamping have not been established. …
