The placement of a filter in the inferior vena cava (IVC) has proven to be an effective method for preventing pulmonary embolism (PE) [1]. Filtration of an enlarged azygos vein pathway may provide an option for prophylaxis against PE in patients with congenital anatomic variations of the IVC. …
