Pediatric Hematology, Methods and Protocols, is an excellent reference book for physicians and scientists who serve pediatric patients in the specialty of hematology. The book describes the vast majority of common pediatric hematologic disorders, including bone marrow failure syndromes, red blood cell disorders, platelet and hemostatic disorders, immunodeficiency, acute leukemia, and bone marrow transplantation. For each disease entity, the authors summarize clinical features, differential diagnosis, current diagnostic methods, and possible future test development. The methods portion of the book is very detailed. It describes the mechanism of tests, required instruments and reagents, step-by-step procedures, graphics of the data, and interpretation of results. The original papers describing each method are also well referenced. …
