Selective embolization of the nasal arterial circulation is a popular treatment for persistent epistaxis that is unresponsive to conventional treatment. Although highly effective, this procedure may in rare circumstances cause problems requiring ophthalmological consultation. We report two cases of embolization of branches of the external carotid artery (ECA) for epistaxis that result in complications within the internal carotid artery (ICA) circulation.
