Transobturator tapes have demonstrated good outcomes for stress urinary incontinence treatment in women. Cure rates are between 90 and 95 % [
1] and the risk of morbidity is low, although complications do occur and can be very serious. The most severe complications associated with the procedure are haemorrhage and infection. When TVT is used, the infection rate is approximately 1 % [
1] and in the case of the transobturator tapes, this rate is around 0.3–0.7 % [
